. Overview. About Meaghan Murphy
Meaghan Murphy, an associate with Meland Budwick, P.A, focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters, including representation of business debtors, bankruptcy trustees and creditors in a variety of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings. Meaghan also provides due diligence review assistance for investor clients purchasing distressed loans, and provides necessary litigation representation following purchase.
Prior to joining the firm, Meaghan represented some of the nation’s largest lenders in various commercial litigation matters, including commercial foreclosure actions. Meaghan also has experience in insurance litigation, both on behalf of first-party plaintiffs with property damage claims, as well as in defending insurance companies in third-party bodily injury and first-party property damage matters.
Meaghan is committed to providing pro bono representation and giving back to the community. Meaghan has provided pro bono representation and assistance to Chapter 7 debtors, individuals in residential foreclosure proceedings, and individuals with major health concerns such as HIV and AIDS with immigration, Social Security and public benefits matters. Meaghan is also an active member of the Junior League of Miami.

Representation of defendant against a judgment creditor seeking to collect on a judgment in excess of $20 million. The matter involved highly disputed and unresolved issues concerning the applicable statute of limitations. Representation led to a very favorable settlement for the defendant..
